Where’s Waldo?

I’ve been missing in action on the blog for quite a while. After finally getting a diagnosis for my son, he has been asthma free since February 21st, and I’ve been celebrating with him instead of sitting behind my computer. Life doesn’t get too much better! Every aspect of our lives has improved. Do you know someone who has a child with a chronic illness? Do something nice for them today. Speaking from past experience, they could use a reason to smile. Happy Hump Day!

This is Only the Beginning- Chapter 24: Her Reward

“Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates”

Proverbs 31:31

We did it!  We reached the top of the mountain, crossed over the finish line… however you want to see it.  We now have the instruction God has given us to become the Proverbs 31 woman, a woman after the heart of God.  The thing that stands out to me in this last chapter is her worthiness of praise.  Let’s remember she is not self boastful!

This chapter reminded me of something I think of alot– how women need to be there for other women.  I hope throughout this journey, you have seen the scarcity of a virtuous women, especially in the eyes of this world.  The world is likely to laugh and mock us for the decisions we make.  It’s a good thing we are not living life for the world!  We are living for the most high one, God! When we stand before our Lord on that sweet day all the world’s judgement will be over.  Who do you ultimately want to please?  We are rare, and we should take treasure in each other.   I can’t stress how important I feel it is for us as virtuous women to be there for each other and to praise each other as the chapter talks about.

We have seen this woman of virtues wake early, stay up late and feed her family along with the poor.  She has made clothes to keep her family and other important people in her life warm.  She cooks, she cleans, she runs a business, manages the lives of many and keeps God first in all she does.  What does she get in return? Praise from those she loves.  That, my friends, is enough for her.  She doesn’t want a trip to the spa or a bonus at work.  She is complete with love and praise from those closest to her.

I’m one of those people who crave the attention and praise of others. I have to sometimes repeat the scripture to myself on a daily basis.  “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” Colossians 3:23.  God is your portion. He is all we need!  Although our human nature has a way of making us crave worldly praise, that, my sisters, I believe is where we step in.  To give our sister praise and encouragement!  I could go on and on about how important it is for sisters in Christ to be there and support one another, but I think you get my point.  This is the heart of my ministry!

Tonight I pray for you and I praise you– the woman you are, and the woman you are still becoming.  We will never achieve perfection overnight. We may never achieve it until we enter our heavenly home, but we can continue every day to strive to live life God’s way; not the world’s way.  When you see your friends struggling, give them the praise they are longing for.  God loves you and will be with through this life lesson.

Jesus,

Tonight I praise you for this opportunity to share my heart, your heart, with other women that long for you.  Tonight I pray for those women. I pray against Satan’s attacks on them.  I pray for a holy peace and indescribable grace to consume their souls as they walk the road that leads to you.  Forgive us for the times we fall into the hole of this world, and thank you for being there to carry us out, brush us off and place us back on two feet, which are walking toward you.  We rest in your truth, Lord. We stand firm in your words.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen

Thank you for sharing this journey with me!!!
